The epic record-breaking match at the Australian Open this year between Schiavone and Kuznetsova got me thinking about lengthy matches. I’ve had some intense battles in my career and funnily enough a few of my longest matches have been against Svetlana. It’s very hard emotionally in a match where you’ve lost the momentum but you just have to think: hey, she won five games in a row, I can do the same thing. To win a long match is extra special.
