Ivanovic vs Datw Krumm Second Round Indian Wells

Ana will take on Japan's Kimiko Date-Krumm in the second round of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells on Friday. It will be the second meeting between the pair, after Ana triumphed in three sets in Bali last November.

World No.56 Date Krumm, who at age 40 is the oldest player on the Tour, reached round two thanks to a 6-4, 7-5 win over 42nd-ranked Yaroslava Shvedova on Wednesday.

The Japanese player's ranking peaked at No.4 in 1995, when Ana was just seven years old. She is a wily competitor who expertly uses short angles and spins to bewitch younger, more powerful opponents. During 2010 she scored victories over Maria Sharapova, Nadia Petrova and Samantha Stosur.

"I'm a fan of hers," said Ana. "She's a great person and what she does on the court is amazing. She is so fit.
