Ana lost to Mattek 6-0 4-6 4-6

Ana Ivanovic, fifteenth favorite farewell to the Madrid Open tennis after falling in the first round at the U.S. Berthanie Mattek-Sands, who won 0-6, 6-4, 6-4.

The first clash between the two players seemed destined to go the fast track for a Mattek Ivanovic swept-Sands (n.40 WTA) in the first round with a convincing 6-0.

But from there, Serbia, which reached number one worldwide in June 2009 and is credited with 10 titles and a Roland Garros WTA (2008), began a gradual downhill, particularly driven by his serve.

I gave the second set 6-4, after losing his serve twice (42 percent of second serves). The same thing happened in the final third set, in which the U.S. had seven balls break (saved five).

Ivanovic says goodbye to a tournament in Madrid, where some looks, for it fell in the second round of 2010
