Ana defeated Krajicek and advanced to the third round:

After three years, Ana Ivanovic finally returned to the third round of the Australian Open, defeating Michaella Krajicek 6-2, 6-3 in one hour and three minutes. Ana played very well, converting 4 of her 6 break point opportunities, striking 17 winners and 11 unforced errors, and hitting 1 ace and 3 double faults. 


 In the first set, Ana broke serve twice to win, once at 1-1 and the other time at 4-2. Ana served without trouble as she took the first set, losing only one point on her serve. 


 In the second set, the match grew more complicated, but Ana broke Krajicek in the third game and then held her serve without much difficulty. With the score at 5-3 in her favor, she broke Krajicek's serve again to win the match. 


 In the third round, Ana will wait to see whether she will play the 15th seed, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, or Vania King. Ana leads her head-to-head record 3-0 against each of them. She will play her next match on Saturday.
