Ana ready for Strasburg

Ana has been drawn to face a qualifier in the opening round of the Internationaux de Strasbourg, which begins in France on Monday. She is seeded third, having entered with a wild card.

In round two Ana would meet either Australia's Jelena Dokic or Simona Halep of Romania. Seventh seed Anabel Medina Garrigues is a possible quarter-final opponent.

Top seed Marion Bartoli could await in the semi-finals of the $220,000 event.

The seeded players in the bottom half of the draw, whom Ana cannot meet until the final, are No.2 Andrea Petkovic, No.4 Nadia Petrova, No.5 Maria Kirilenko and No.6 Daniela Hantuchova.

Ana to play Strasbourg

Ana has accepted a wild card into the Internationaux de Strasbourg, a $220,000 International tournament that takes place during 16-21 May.

It will be Ana's first appearance at the clay court event, and the first time that she has competed the week immediately before Roland Garros.

“I’m very much looking forward to playing in Strasbourg," said Ana.

"I know that the tournament organizers are very ambitious and they’ve invested heavily in improving the event. The conditions will be very similar to Paris with the same surface and balls, and the competition will be tough.

"I feel that I need more matches before Roland Garros and this is a good opportunity for me to get them, and to compete for the title.”
